What we collect

• Booking details: name, mobile, email (optional), delivery address (suburb + street), bin size, delivery date, any notes you add.
• Payment data: handled by Stripe. We never store your card number — Stripe does. We store a transaction reference so we can match your deposit to your booking.
• Marketing tags: Google Analytics, Google Ads conversion, Meta Pixel. These set cookies in your browser. You can opt out via the cookie controls in your browser.
• Server logs: our reverse proxy keeps standard request logs (IP, timestamp, URL) for 30 days for abuse/debugging.

Why we collect it

• To deliver your skip bin to the correct address on the correct day.
• To text you delivery and pickup updates.
• To process your deposit and the balance on collection.
• To measure which ads are working so we don't waste budget on the ones that aren't.

Who we share it with

• Stripe for payment processing.
• SMS provider for delivery and pickup notifications.
• Google and Meta for ad measurement, in aggregated/hashed form (we never send your name or full address to advertising platforms).
• If we ever need to bring on a delivery partner to handle a booking we can't service ourselves, we'll only share the minimum needed (name, mobile, address) and they'll be bound by the same privacy obligations under the Privacy Act 2020.

We do not sell your data. We do not pass it to third-party marketers.

How long we keep it

Booking records: 7 years (IRD requirement for tax records). Marketing analytics: 26 months (Google's default). Server logs: 30 days.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to see what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (subject to the IRD record-keeping requirement above). Email hello@skipbinsauckland.co.nz and we'll respond within 20 working days.

Cookies

We use cookies to remember your booking session (24 hours), to support marketing measurement (Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Pixel), and for the basic operation of the site. Cookies set by Stripe Checkout are governed by Stripe's privacy policy.

Complaints

If you believe we've mishandled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner: privacy.org.nz.

Changes

If we change this policy materially we'll email anyone with an open booking and post a notice on the homepage.
